About
House Warming is an independent platform that helps European households compare heat-pump models, evaluate subsidy eligibility, and estimate payback periods using real, current data.
What we do
- Aggregate heat-pump model data from the official EU EPREL registry, national subsidy lists and certified-product registries.
- Mirror household electricity and gas tariffs from Eurostat (updated semi-annually) for 32 European countries.
- Maintain country-by-country profiles of climate (HDD/CDD), grid CO₂ intensity and active subsidy programmes.
- Provide free open data: every analytical page links to its source and methodology.
Editorial principles
- Source transparency. Every figure on the site carries a provenance and a capture date.
- No paid placement. Rankings and comparisons are driven only by published parameters; advertisers cannot purchase better positions.
- Methodology versioning. When we change a formula (e.g. how the HW Affordability Index is computed), the change is published with the new methodology version.
- Independence. We are not affiliated with the European Commission, with EPREL, with EHPA, or with any heat-pump manufacturer or installer.
How we make money
The site monetises through display advertising, qualified installation-quote leads to certified installers in the user's country, and affiliate links to retailers — all clearly labelled. These never influence our editorial output.
